Hey bookworms! Today I am working on
compiling a list of series that I've read the first or the first few books of,
but need to read the rest to finish the series.
Blue Bloods Series by Melissa de la Cruz
#1 - Blue
Bloods
#2 - Masquerade
#3 -
Revelations
#4 - The
Van Alen Legacy
#4.5 - Keys to the Repository
#5 - Misguided
Angel
#5.5 - Bloody Valentine
#6 - Lost
in Time
#7 - Gates
of Paradise
I picked up the first book in this
series on a whim, looking for something to continue my vampire high from having
just read Twilight. I was surprised at how different de la Cruz's vampires were
from Twilight's vampires; and even though it was blood suckers with a Gossip
Girl twist, I devoured the first book and then quickly gobbled up the next two
as well. I left off with The Van Alen Legacy, and know that I will need to
reread the first four books in order to finish this series. It gets very
confusing to keep straight who all the characters are and were in their past
lives. It's an incredible series that I am very anxious to finish.
Divergent Series by Veronica Roth
#1 - Divergent
#2 - Insurgent
#3 - Allegiant
Okay, so how surprised are you to see
this series on my list? I've read the first two books (Divergent twice,
actually!), but haven't managed to read Allegiant yet. Or maybe subconsciously
I'm putting it off because I don't want this amazing series to end?
The Chronicles of Faerie by O.R. Melling
#1 - The Hunter's Moon
#2 - The Summer King
#3 - The Light-Bearer's Daughter
#4 - The Book of Dreams
I really wish that the cover photos here
did the actual covers justice, but they don't! In real life, they are so shimmery
and iridescent! But this will do for now. So in this series, I've only read the
first book, but guys, it was amazing! What I love about this series, is that
they are mostly Celtic Mythology retellings with the author's own spin on them.
And Melling is an incredible storyteller. I own all but the last book, so I
don't know what I'm waiting for in reading these! To my knowledge, the books
are companion novels that all eventually tie together in the end, but don't
quote me on that! If you love fairies or are looking at a way to get into the
genre, this is a wonderful series to do that with!
Faerie Path Series by Frewin Jones
#1 - The Faerie Path
#2 - The Lost Queen
#3 - The Sorcerer King
#4 - The Immortal Realm
#5 - The Enchanted Quest
#6 - The Charmed Return
I know, I know, yet another faerie
series, but this is another wonderful one that will be a pleasure to read for
old and new faerie fans alike. I think with this one, I read up to book three,
and I was hooked. This one is completely different from The Chronicles of
Faerie, and truly unique in its own right. It starts out kind of slow, but once
you are in the middle of the action, you won't want to put the books down!
Fire and Thorns Series by Rae Carson
#1 - The Girl of Fire and Thorns
#2 - Crown of Ember
#3 - The Bitter Kingdom
#0.5 - The Shadow Cats
#0.6 - The Shattered Mountain
#0.7 - The King's Guard
This is the series that got me hooked on
fantasy novels. I went into this one not sure what to expect, and even was
still unsure a few chapters in. But I hung in there, and I'm so glad that I did
because I absolutely LOVED the first book, and cannot wait to devour the next
two.
Under the Never Sky Series by Veronica Rossi
#1 - Under the Never Sky
#2 - Through the Ever Night
#3 - Into the Still Blue
#0.5 - Roar and Liv
#2.5 - Brooke
I received an ARC of Under the Never
Sky, and was still brand spanking new to dystopians at the time. It was super easy for me to get over my fears
and fall head first into the story. I cannot wait to continue the series and
see what happens to the characters that I've come to love!
New
Soul Series by Jodi Meadows
#2 - Asunder
#3 - Infinite
#2.5 - Phoenix Overture
I fell in love with the cover of
Incarnate before actually reading the book. It is a very unique concept, and
I'm curious to see how it ends.
Starcrossed Series by Josephine Angelini
Books in the Series:
#1 - Starcrossed
#2 - Dreamless
#3 - Goddess
#0.5 - Starcrossed City
I remember starting Starcrossed and
thinking to myself, I am not going to be able to get into this one. Greek
Mythology retelling? I wasn't so sure.
But I am sure about one thing, that I was wrong and absolutely LOVED the first
book in the series, and have the next two on my, "must read ASAP"
list.
What series have you started and not
finished, but desperately need to? Let me know in the comments below :)
Happy Reading!
Laura
I have sooooooo many series to finish too. Starcrossed would have made my list too. Loved the first book and have the following two but haven't had the chance to read. The Under the Never Sky series was excellent start to finish!
