On the Big Screen: Catching Fire's director, Francis Lawrence, is going to be directing both Mockingjay movies

It looks like the director for the second movie in The Hunger Games trilogy, Catching Fire, has signed on to do BOTH movies for the epic conclusion, Mockingjay. Read the full article and check out pictures from the movie here.

It makes me happy to see the same director for all of the movies in a series, especially one that is near and dear to my heart. I can't help but voice my displeasure in the Twilight franchise, as I do not think that the movies do the book justice. So to see that the same director is going to be handling both Catching Fire and Mockingjay is great news. I think The Hunger Games was fine, but it seems that Lawrence is getting lots of hype, and it looks like all of the actors seem to really enjoy being directed by him - which is a plus!

So what did you think of The Hunger Games? What are your hopes for Catching Fire & Mockingjay?

Happy Reading!

  1. I really, REALLY liked how the first movie turned out. It captured the essence of the book SO darn well, and I'm rather sad that they switched directors :( Ah well...consistency is good, so if the next 3 movies will stick with the same director, it could be good...don't know too much about this director myself, though... not a Twilight person XD
